Prime Big Deal Days 2026: a short guide
Amazon's autumn sale runs on Tuesday 6 and Wednesday 7 October 2026. Here's how to get the good bits and ignore the rest.
What it is
Prime Big Deal Days is Amazon's second big sale of the year, after Prime Day in the summer. For two days Amazon and the brands that sell on it cut prices across most departments, and it has become the unofficial start of Christmas shopping for people who like to be finished before December.
Who can get the deals
The event deals are for Prime members. If you're not one, Amazon usually offers new members a free trial, and you can cancel before it renews; check Amazon for the current terms before you sign up. Plenty of ordinary deals that are open to everyone run alongside the event too, and we mark the Prime-only ones on our listings so you know before you click.
What tends to be worth it
- Amazon's own devices. Echo speakers, Fire TV sticks, Kindles and Ring doorbells are usually cut hardest during Amazon's own events.
- Big-ticket home kit. Robot vacuums, coffee machines, air fryers and electric toothbrushes from the well-known brands see some of their better prices of the year.
- Dull essentials. Chargers, batteries, cables and bathroom-cabinet refills. Nobody brags about them, but stocking up at a discount is the most reliably useful thing you can do in a sale.
How not to get caught out
- Make a list first. A discount on something you didn't want is still money spent.
- Be suspicious of big percentages. A "was" price can be generous. What matters is whether today's price is low for that product, which is the question we try to answer before posting anything.
- Move quickly on timed deals. Some offers run for a few hours or until the allocated stock is claimed, then they're gone.
- Check the exact version. Colour, size and storage options are often priced differently, and the deal may apply to only one of them.
- Remember returns. If something turns out to be a mistake, Amazon's normal returns policy still applies during the sale.
How we're covering it
Early deals start appearing in the days before the event, and we post them as we find them. During the two days we go through Amazon's deals page far more often than usual and post the best of it to X and to our Facebook page, with every one of them listed on the front page of this site. See how we pick deals.
